I dropped in to see the Mount Tamborine community gardens a week ago while on holiday in the area. They are located behind Bungunyah manor on Mount Tamborine which is just a short distance west of the gold coast and very near Brisbane in Queensland.

It was great to see a well planned open garden space like this being used. They apparently sell vegetables regularly on the weekends but we were there  mid week and there was no one much around and we did not get to talk to anyone about what happens there. The weather had been pretty extreme for the week or so before so some things were looking a bit stressed – but it looks like they can easily grow a wide range of vegetables and herbs including subtropicals.

The dirt is very red on Mount Tamborine…
