Lyre Bird
Just been listening to a young male Lyre Bird on the cliff tops in the Blue Mountains late in the afternoon – one amazing bird imitating up to about 15 other types.
Currawong, Wattle bird, Butcher bird, Rosella, King Parrot, Black Cockatoo, White Cockatoo, Whip bird, Magpie and some assorted others…
It stood in display position for about 30 minutes practicing about 2 metres from the path not far from a Bower Bird nest – thats the one in the photo – the Lyre Bird ran off when I stopped recording so sadly no photo….
